The dictionary definition of flaneur is loafer or vagabond. I ascribe to the notion of flaneur as a wanderer and observer.

Long walks on the beach are not for me, however, if the invitation is an evening stroll over the Burrard Bridge to downtown Vancouver, then I'm in.

Tuesday nights I play Gay Bingo at the Odyssey, afterwards I walk through the arcades on Granville Street and finish up at Tickle Me Tuesdays at the Dufferin. I finish the evening by walking up Seymour Street, back over the Granville Bridge.
